Matthew was rescued by Jesus when he was twenty-three. Shortly after, he found himself in Ghana, West Africa on the first of what would be many ventures to the mission field. That first trip, Matthew says, "ruined me for anything less than a life lived for God's global purpose." In 1993 he began serving at Calvary of Albuquerque, in New Mexico, where he attended and graduated from their School of Ministry. He worked as the missions pastor at Calvary for nine years, developing and launching a strategic church-wide missions ministry. There he founded an international short-term mission ministry called LifeLine Missions that gave thousands across the country the opportunity to experience the mission field firsthand. Through these ministry opportunities he became extensively involved in short and long-term mission endeavors in countries around the world.
Now, he devotes his time to serving local churches across the country by coaching them in strategically focused missions and helping them to discover and use their unique gifts in partnership with others to make Christ known among all nations. Matthew is the Chief Ministry Officer and co-founder of Sixteen:Fifteen, and currently lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife, Renee, and their three children, Matthew, Cali, and Landon.
By God’s grace, Curtis’ surrendered his “death” to Jesus Christ at age 12, despite many formidable challenges including an atheist father in the home as well as various abuses outside of the home. Still, it was many years later until he was truly set free! It was the grace of God; Christ living in us, to enable us, to accomplish all that He requires and the law demands of us! It was this beautiful truth that caused him to actually surrender his “life” and fall in love with Jesus Christ.
Curtis is currently serving as the Missions Pastor at Hoffmantown Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Over the last 7 years the missions giving at Hoffmantown Church has exploded from an average weekly missions gift per person of less than $1.00 to over $14.00, per person, per week! God’s global vision is now successfully moving from a peripheral program of the church toward the very heart of the church, with broad participation and ownership of the Great Commission. Curtis has served the church in various capacities, including full time service, as well as, bi-vocationally. In 2002 Curtis founded Power of One Ministries. This work was thrust onto the national stage in 2004 being referenced by national organizations including Chuck Colson’s BreakPoint, Agape Press, New York Times (NYT), NPR, the U.S, Department of Education and more. He has been described as a “gifted and effectual communicator” and as the "well-spoken minister" (NYT) who "compels his listeners" and "speaks effectively to his audience". Curtis aspires to continually abide in Christ and be used by God for His glory, boasting only in the cross of Jesus Christ.
He currently serves in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife Stacey, and their three children, Mikayln, Jacob Canaan and Daniel Justus.
Michael was born and raised in the DC Metro area. He took his first short term mission trip to Mexico City in 1990. This trip would be the beginning of significant activity in short term missions. Over the next 20 years, Michael led a variety of outreaches spanning 10 different countries and covering everything from orphanage related work, street evangelism, teaching in Bible schools, open air preaching and teaching in native church services.
Back in the states, and while not on the field, Michael helped build one of the most respected real estate appraisal firms in the greater DC area. From 1988 to 2009 Michael, along with his brother and father, built strong working relationships with dozens of clients including Bank of America, CitiGroup, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase and dozens of local and regional banks.
Personally, Michael married his wife Alisha in 1996. Together, they have 3 energetic and bright children, Kathryn, Michael, and Grace. After more than twenty years of experience in real estate, Michael responded to the call of God to pursue full time ministry in 2009, moving his family 2,000 miles to Albuquerque to serve with Sixteen:Fifteen, where Michael had served as a board member since 2004. Prior to leaving the DC area, Michael and his family were involved at Fourth Presbyterian Church and exceedingly blessed to sit under the preaching ministry of Dr. Rob Norris.
Michael is currently enrolled in college and pursuing a seminary degree.
Growing up in church, Tom was saved at young age. He has been blessed to have a wonderful Christian heritage, with many in his family involved in ministry. Tom has served in ministry in many different ways, from playing keyboard in a Christian band to serving as a pastoral assistant at Western Heights Assembly of God, in Albuquerque. More recently, Tom and his wife Melissa have been blessed to serve as youth pastors at Western Heights. They have three wonderful sons: Chory, Taylor and Tommy.
He has a heart for the lost and the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Though he is not on the “frontline” of ministry, he is honored that God has allowed him to be a part of Sixteen:Fifteen. He says, “It’s awesome to watch history unfold before my eyes -- seeing churches unleashed to reach unreached people groups all over the world!” (Revelation 7:9-10)
